Fixed Prosthesis On Implants

Crowns or Bridges are placed on implants, which have been previously placed by the surgeon. These can be made of feldspathic porcelain, zirconium, porcelain fused to metal or another combination of materials based on the functional and aesthetic needs. An entire arch can be restored with 6-7 implants either with a 12 unit bridge or a fixed denture. Fixed dentures are not removable by the patient, even though a dentist can still remove them. They usually offer a more cost efficient option for a full mouth rehabilitation. Fixed bridges on the other hand offer a more natural and aesthetic result allowing for the use of feldspathic porcelain in anterior teeth or zirconium fused to porcelain.
Removable Implant-Supported Or Semi-Fixed Prosthesis
Complete dental prosthesis which is attached to the implants with a bar or locator attachments but is removable.
This prosthesis is used when the surgeon is forced to place few implants in an individual without teeth, usually due to a lack of bone. An edentulous mouth (without teeth) can be rehabilitated with a removable prostheses with 2-4 implants in each arch, that will cover the entire mouth.
This type of prosthesis is supported on these implants, however the person will be able to remove it for proper hygiene. The fact that it is placed on these implants means that the prosthesis has minimal movement inside the mouth.
