For the best healing of the wound and to avoid unwanted complications, please follow the instructions below:

- Pain Management: If analgesics are used correctly, you should not experience pain after the procedure. Since the pain is stronger shortly after the procedure, when the local anesthetic wears off, it is recommended to take the first dose of analgesics before you start feeling pain, immediately after the procedure, for better effectiveness. Even better, take them 1 hour before the procedure. If you are in pain, you may take another analgesic (e.g., Panadol Extra) between the main analgesic doses, but DO NOT take aspirin or antihistamines. Cold compresses will also help with pain management.
- Pain-Infection: Gradually reduce the use of pain relievers after the 3rd day. If the pain and swelling worsen instead of improving after the 3rd day, contact our clinic IMMEDIATELY. If you experience other symptoms such as difficulty swallowing, an unpleasant taste, or fever, inform the clinic immediately.
- Antibiotics-Analgesics: It is important to take the medications for as many days as prescribed. DO NOT stop the treatment even if you feel better. DO NOT take your medications on an empty stomach.
- Bleeding Control: It is expected that you will see some blood in the area after the extraction. During the procedure, the dentist placed a small gauze to control the bleeding and help form a clot. You can remove the gauze carefully after 30 minutes. Repeat the process if necessary for another 30-60 minutes or longer. Do not interrupt the pressure to check, and do not change the gauze too frequently. A few drops of blood may be present in the area even 24 hours after the extraction.
- Oral Hygiene: DO NOT rinse your mouth and DO NOT spit for 24 hours after the extraction to avoid disturbing the clot formation. Start brushing your teeth the day after the extraction, avoiding the extraction site. Rinse only after brushing with salt water or mouthwash gently (without pressure). To avoid infection, keep your tongue and hands away from the extraction site and the wound for smooth healing.
- Smoking: DO NOT smoke for at least 2 days after the procedure. Smoking hinders wound healing and may cause painful complications such as dry socket, etc.
- Food-Diet: You can eat only when the numbness from the anesthetic has completely worn off (usually 2-4 hours after the extraction), otherwise, there is a risk of biting and injuring your lips! Consume plenty of fluids (DO NOT use a straw). Your diet on the day of the extraction should consist of only soft and cool foods such as yogurt, ice cream, cold soups, milkshakes, jelly, creams, etc. The next day, you can add soft solid food to your diet, warm or cold, as long as you can chew without issue. Avoid chewing near the extraction site for one week.
